KTuxPop needs kdelibs-1.1.2 and qt-1.44 in order to run.
It works with KDE 2.0 if you have these libraries installed on your system
In this case, you'll have to give the correct paths to configure. (--with-qt-libraries for example), and to
export KDEDIR properly. (and use the ktuxstart script to run it)

If you want to activate the logo, QT must be compiled with GIF support enabled (see QT documentation).
If you installed QT from a RPM or a DEB, it is probably enabled.

***********************************
Installation :
***********************************

./configure (don't forget to export QTDIR and KDEDIR to correspond to your kde 1.1 installation)
(for example: export KDEDIR=/opt; export QTDIR=/usr/qt-1.45)
make
make install

line to add in /etc/smb.conf : (only required if you use smbd and/or someone uses LinPopup or Winpopup)
message command = ktuxpop "%t" "%m" %s;rm %s

KTuxPop need to be chmod +s if you want common users to be able to use it, otherwise you'll have to run it
as root.Only one instance of KTuxPop may be running in the same time. The next generation of TuxPop will
allow multi-session.

KTuxPop is not a multiuser software, i mean that messages are sent to one computer, not to one
user. KTuxPop will always receive messages send to the computer and give it to the user of
ktuxpop. If root is running ktuxpop then root will receive the messages. If user mikmak is
running ktuxpop then user mikmak will receive the messages. KTuxPop cannot be run by two users
in the same time.

KDE 2.x Users
************************************
I have added a script (ktuxstart) which allows you to run ktuxpop inside kde2.x
Just edit it and modify QTDIR and KDEDIR to correspond to your KDE 1.1 installation
Then copy it on your desktop for example, and a click on it will start it !
