4. Equipment

Not only the player in NS-CO has changed, there are also a lot of new items to be used by the player. Those are seperated into various categories. Check the following sections for details.

4.1 Weapons

Numerous Weapons have been added to bring a realistic feel to navy seals. Each of them having different characteristics and ingame effect. Not every weapon is available to both teams. Most are limited to either Seals or Tangos. The list of weapons will be increased with every future beta. The current list can be found below.

4.2 Weapon Addons

Most Weapons available can be upgraded with one or more accessoires. All those Addons have some minimum Ability requirements you have to fulfill in order to be able to use them.

Silencer
Silencers are barrel extensions that are applied to the muzzle. Silencers reduce the noise produced when firing the gun. It also completely removes the muzzleflash of the gun when fired.
      Ability requirements: Stealth 3 for Sidearm Silencer, Stealth 5 for Primary Silencer

Laser Pointer
The Laser Pointer projects a small laser beam in the direction the muzzle is facing. This helps the user to better aim and hit his target as he can exactly tell where the bullet will impact.
      Ability requirements: Accuracy 3 for Sidearm Laser Pointer, Accuracy 4 for Primary Laser Pointer

Scope
A scope magnifys the image when looking through. Useful for sniping and scouting. Some weapons already come with scopes attached (Sniper Rifles).
      Ability requirements: Accuracy 6 for Primary Weapon Scope

Bayonet
Attached to the front of the rifle this Knife-like attachment is used to stab enemies that come to close to the user.
      Ability requirements: Strength 4 for Primary Weapon Bayonet

Underslung Grenade Launcher
Available in different forms and sizes. Firing 40mm Grenades and can be attached to Assault Rifles. The m203 Grenade Launcher for the M4 Assault Rifle and the BG-15 Grenade Launcher for the ak47 Assault Rifle.
      Ability requirements: Techinical 7 for Primary Weapon Underslung Grenade Launcher

Duckbill
The Duckbill is an attachment that is used to control the spread of normal shotguns.
      Ability requirements: Strength 4 for Primary Weapon Duckbill

4.3 Explosives

Unlike normal Weapons, Explosives can not have any addons. Some Explosives are Grenades and must be thrown while others can be placed and have time- or remote-detonators. Just like with weapons this list will continually be increased.

Mk26 Fragmentation Grenade
Firemodes: Throw, Roll

When exploding those greandes send sharpnel flying in all directions. The damage to unarmored targets is very high. The grenades can be primed to explode after three, four or five seconds.

Flashbang Grenade
Firemodes: Throw, Roll

On exploding a bright flash and a very loud sound are produced. The purpose of this grenade is to stun and confuse enemies while not dealing leathal damage to possible civilians nearby. The grenades can be primed to explode after three, four or five seconds.

40mm Grenade
Firemodes: none

Used only with the underslung grenade launcher those projectiles explode on impact. After travelling 5 meters the grenade is primed. Should it hit a surface before it traveled this distance, then it will not explode.

4.4 Special Equipment

Special Equipment is equipment that is not listed above. Some of tihs is necessary to fulfill certain missions.

Kevlar Helmet
The kevlar helmet protects you from head-hits by smaller caliber weapons. You are left severly wounded but you survive. It is useless agains higher caliber weapons tough. It's weight effectively reduces your speed and your stamina.

Kevlar Vest
The kevlar helmet protects you from hits to the torso by smaller caliber weapons. You recieve less damage from chest- and stomach hits. It is useless agains higher caliber weapons tough. It's weight effectively reduces your speed and your stamina.

Suitcase
The suitcase is an object that is used in the INFO scenario. It contains secret information that has to be extracted.

C4
The c4 is used for the BOMB mode. It is placed at the designated points and detonates after a pre-set amount of time. In bomb maps it's given out to one member of the attacking team at random.

Tool Kit
The Defuse Kit is required to disarm C4 bombs. Once you reach technical level 2 or higher you gain the Tool kit. It does not slow you down in any way.
